A family farm that grew into a home for horses
Since 1999, StirrupRidge has cared for horses and taught riders on 200 acres of rolling green pasture — the way a family farm should.
From two ponies to forty horses
StirrupRidge began when Eleanor Ridgeway bought a 40-acre farm with two lesson ponies, a dozen borrowed stalls and a simple idea: run a boarding barn the way you would want your own horse cared for.
Twenty-five years later we care for more than forty horses, teach riders of every age, and host clinics and summer camps — but the farm rules never changed. Open gates, honest advice, and horses that know they are home.
We are licensed, insured and inspected, with certified instructors and a veterinarian on call. Most of our boarders have been with us for five years or more — the longest, over eighteen.

Certified instructor (USEF/ARIA), 30 years with horses. Eleanor started StirrupRidge with two ponies and a borrowed barn in 1999.
